Jelly Meatballs

offered up by smthng

Get a bunch of meatballs... I use the prepackaged ones from Costco in a 6 lb bag.  Get a BIG jar of grape jelly and a BIG bottle of ketchup (64 oz each should do nicely).  Put the jelly and the ketchup in a big mixing bowl and mix until the jelly is pretty much no longer jelly blobs... should just be a really nasty colored ketchup at this point.  Toss the meatballs in a slow cooker and pour the jelly/ketchup stuff in until the meatballs are totally covered (except the few that float - they don't count).  My slow cooker has a dial that goes up to 5.  I set it on 4 for about an hour.  The liquid should start to bubble a little bit.  Turn down to 2 and let sit for about 4 hours.  Use a slotted spoon to get the meatballs as you really don't want too much of the "sauce" stuff on your plate... it's pretty heavy stuff.
